Ingredients
- 6 tbs unsalted butter (salted butter can work too)
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows (large marshmallows are okay too)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Optional add ins:
- Extra mini marshmallows
- Chocolate chips
- Crushed Oreos
- M & Ms
- 2 cups of any other type of cereal to replace 2 cups of rice krispies cereal (cinnamon toast crunch is a yummy one!)
Equipment
- Large saucepan (I like using a 5-QT pot/dutch oven)
- Whisk
- 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan, coated with butter or spray
- Wax paper or save the butter wrapper from above
- Spatula / Wooden spoon

Instructions
Brown butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, whisking as it melts, foams, bubbles until brown bits form and turns amber in color. Add marshmallows and continue to stir with a spatula until they melt. Add vanilla extract. When all combined, add rice krispies cereal and any additional add-ins. Keep mixing until well combined. Spray/grease pan and pour cereal mixture. Use either wax paper or wet hands (careful, mixture will be warm to touch) to push down into pan. Let cool about 10 minutes. Once cool, either cut with a knife into squares or use cookie cutters to cut into cool shapes.
