Chef Ludo’s Potato Cake

We like simple and straightforward recipes. This is a wonderful recipe to impress your family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 medium Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 3 tbs unsalted butter
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper

Equipment:

  • Vegetable peeler
  • Chef’s knife
  • Chopping board
  • Large non-stick pan (able to go in oven – no plastic handle)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Peel potatoes and slice approximately ¼ inch thick.  Grease pan generously with butter. Starting in the middle, lay potatoes in a spiral ring until you get to the outer edge. Then, lay potatoes in a spiral ring starting from the outer edge, towards the middle.  Top with two tablespoons of butter cut into small pieces.

Bake for 40 minutes until the edges are crispy and golden. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, slice and serve.

Shhh…We are going to cheat and put it in the oven at the same temperature with Thomas Keller’s Roast Chicken.
